Head-to Toe Aches and Pains

Here at Maidstone Physio Clinic we quite literally treat any problem which is causing you pain and/or stiffness as a result of a problem with a muscle, joint or nerve. This commonly includes strains and sprains of ligaments, tendons and muscles or it may simply be an irritating little finger pain that just won’t go away. Alternatively you may have been told by your GP that you have a specific condition such as Tennis Elbow, Trochanteric Bursitis or Fibromyalgia. Whatever the problem is, we are sure to have a Therapist who can offer advice and treatment to improve your quality of life. Please fill in our Contact Form or give us a call to chat to one of our Therapists for free advice to see how we can help you.

Surgery/Fracture

Whether you’ve had Orthopaedic Surgery (eg Total Knee or Hip Replacement, Knee Arthroscopy, Shoulder Tendon Repair, Back Surgery), or just come out of a plaster cast following a fracture, it is vital that you get things moving as soon as possible to build your strength and regain mobility and function. We get many referrals from local Orthopaedic Consultants to look after their patients and get them back to normal. Please see our Testimonials from Orthopaedic Consultants.

Neurological Conditions

Neurological Physiotherapy is a specialist area of Physio which helps people in their recovery following any Neurological Conditions (affecting the brain and nervous system). This commonly includes patients who have had a stroke or been diagnosed with Parkinsons and MS (multiple sclerosis). If you would like to find out more or discuss if it could help you or a relative then please fill in our Contact Form or ring the clinic and ask to speak to Alex, our experienced Neuro Physio.

Back and Neck Pain

(Including Sciatica, Slipped Discs, Spondylosis, Degeneration, Arthritis, Nerve Compression, Referred pain into the arms/legs, Whiplash, Headaches & Migraines, Chronic Pain, Spinal Surgery and General Tightness). Neck and Back Pain is by far the most common problem we treat in the clinic. Our daily lifestyles, work postures and hobbies put an enormous amount of stress and strain on our backs and this build up can inevitably lead to pain at some point in our lives. Following treatment for neck/back pain, many of our patients find that joining one of our Pilates / Yoga classes can be highly beneficial in maintaining the improvements gained. Research has proven that these can both prevent a recurrence of back pain, as well as improve overall physical and mental health.

Sports Injury (Adults/Children)

Whilst we’re all encouraged to lead an active lifestyle for our overall health and fitness, unfortunately this can lead to injuries. In adults this is particularly so when we reach our 30’s/40’s/50’s/60’s, as our joints and muscles may naturally start to stiffen/tighten up so we are more prone to ‘overstraining’ and injuring ourselves. In children, injuries are most common during ‘growth spurts’ when the muscles and tendons are already being pulled and stretched against the growing bones making them vulnerable to injury. Increased training, particularly on a build up to a competition, can often lead to injuries so we can help you adjust your training schedule and are happy to liaise with sports coaches if necessary. Not only are we dedicated in assessing and treating the problem (or referring you on for more investigations if we feel this is appropriate), but we take time to ensure we make your treatment/rehab specific to your sport, giving you realistic targets to work towards. If you have specific sporting goals or aims, our highly qualified Sports Therapist, Erin, can provide more detailed and tailored advice and assistance.

Joint Problem/Arthritis

(Including Normal Age-Related Arthritis / Degeneration / ‘Wear and Tear’, Frozen Shoulders, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis) Joint aches/pains and stiffness can commonly lead to reduced movement making it difficult to do even simple daily tasks like putting on socks, bending to do the weeding or putting on a jumper. Whereas you may be told that this is just wear and tear or part of getting old, and to take painkillers to reduce the pain, we do not believe this is acceptable and are committed to using a variety of treatment techniques to reduce aches/pains and restore movement back to stiff joints to keep you moving. Many patients who see us for Joint Problems find that, once they’ve completed their treatment, participating in one of our small group exercise classes can keep them mobile and prevent the problem from worsening again.
